The New 'New' Frontier

The New 'New' Frontier is here, although not yet recognized by the majority of middle-class families. Indeed, many middle class families have someone in the family unemployed or underemployed. Some may even be college graduates that were either laid-off due to the economic crisis or graduated and had to move back home without receiving appropriate job considerations.

College's throughout the country rarely, if ever, teach their students that what they learn, regardless of their major, can be their best asset of self-reliant. That's because they were taught that after graduation they needed a period of mentoring and experience, and entrepreneurship wasn't on the curriculum. However; many of the 9.1% who are unemployed have failed to recognize the real lessons they learned in school has already prepared them for their future in ways not completely understood.

College students read or have already read about Early American History that included many stories about American's struggles and long roads to success, many of which lead to the wealth and prosperity of an entire nation. These amazing achievements took place as a result of people driven and motivated by a rare opportunity to reap the benefits of their own labor. Opportunities made available from a government that understood the true American Dream came from a government that encouraged and supported this concept. Understanding of the American concepts meant the inclusion of low taxation, deregulation, and economic and religious freedom. This was learned through experience by those immigrating to America from other countries who's former governments had long ignored the will of their people in favor of the elite class of their society.

One history lesson we all should remember, and never forget was that of Patrick Henry. On March 23, 1775, American hero Patrick Henry stood in front of the members of the Virgina House of Burgesses at St. John's Church and gave a resounding speech that is remembered in part by his historic words, "Give me liberty or give me death;" which went a long way in convincing the Virgina Convention to enter the revolutionary war. What that should tell us is that there 'can' be too much of a good thing when liberty and self-reliance is replaced by social justice and collectivism.

Unfortunately, today's America and most of the developed world, is suffering from a long and painful economic crisis leading to worldwide unemployment and growing poverty. This crisis has many causes; but its longevity is the direct result of governments attempt to pick winners and loser within the business sector such as Banks and Oil companies. Governments around the world have adapted a tax and spend political strategy stretching from Europe to United States.

This detrimental way of leadership has been perpetrated by governments worldwide in a time where education and technically advancements have exceeded all previous such accomplishments. Still, with all the greatest technical advancements the world has ever seen taking place in the past few decades the global struggles rival the worst economic periods in modern times.

Developments such as high-speed internet access, wireless communications and social networking are the new era of opportunity in mass communication. This monumental evolution has done, in a short time, what government has failed to do throughout the entire history of humanity. That is, unite the entire worlds population with a direct open dialog. That's not to say a utopia is here, it's simply and indication that humanity now has a chance to communicate and identify similarities that have failed the governments throughout the world. This development has a chance to do the extraordinary, lead humanity toward trust, hope and productive eternal relationships.

This technology, as extraordinary as it is, has even more potential. Even a casual examination of business balance sheets it's easy to conclude that big businesses have seen record profits. In contrast, small business has been struggling with smaller revenue and higher costs, and the labor force has experienced loss of jobs, consumer confidence and lower discretionary spending. One reason for this imbalance of prosperity is the constant political manipulation of the tax code and use of those funds. The constant manipulation of government programs such as welfare, subsides, tax liabilities, tax breaks and entitlements is the real cause of this imbalance.

The real goal of the politicians constant manipulation isn't to protect the welfare of their citizens but to protect the career of the politician. This political gamesmanship  has been going on for decades, it is nothing more than a shell game used to fool the American taxpayers by temporarily greasing the palms of their own constituents. In the long run, any gains made by the working poor is zapped up through government induced inflation or the devaluation of the country's currency. It's a fools game established  by both party's in their effort to establish a base of dependent voters for their political agenda and their own reelections.
This type of gamesmanship by our government has driven American's from a once self-reliant wealthy population to government dependency, a dependency that now is relying on a government that is technically bankrupted.

This is the same driving force behind the failure lurking all over Europe led by the fear of defaulting nations such as Greece, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Portugal, the United Kingdom and many other nanny states.
Isn't it about time for American's to stop buying into this game and admit, as our Founding Fathers' did, that the pursuit of happiness can only be found in the rewards earned from the sweat of our own brow not a right or obligation of a government body? No matter what the government tells us, the trouble with socialism is and always will be the fact that eventually they will run out of other peoples money.

While many Americans remain unemployed and many more join them, the risk of losing their home, families and integrity continues to increase. Few have acknowledged that they have the key to their own prosperity. Today's New 'New' Frontier is one that appears in their lives everyday. It's within the internet, wireless communications, and social media.

These platforms have assisted big businesses to record profits during the greatest recession and financial crisis the world has ever witnessed. Now is an opportune time for those who have the drive and motivation to succeed to take the risk of entrepreneurship. One such opportunity exist in a new and developing segment of social networking. Many of those needing jobs have the knowledge, skills and abilities required of a Social Media Manager. Therefore, those inclined to be social, outgoing and have a desire to become self-reliant should take the key they hold and pursue the possibilities. Ask yourself this, if not you, who? If not now, when? If not Social Media Management, what? To a true entrepreneur bankruptcy is simply a temporary cash shortage. At this point in time, what do you have to lose?
